My name is April. I am a 30 something year old Nurse Practitioner by day, doggie mama and want to be chef and gardener by night. My hobbies include photography, hanging out with the boy Harley, and cooking. Harley and I like to work out in the garden together. He likes to help me in the garden and is my personal taste tester. Of course I always have a camera handy in order to capture his crazy antics. This is my space to share life’s little treasures here in my neck of the woods.
I chose the title “Save the Treats for the Dog” because our lives revolve around our dogs. Often we treat the dogs better than we treat ourselves around here. I make sure he is fed, watered, treats whenever he wants them, exercised often, and cuddled so he is a very well-rounded dog. When it comes to our own lives, we often eat too much, exercise few and far between, get way too stressed, and take each other for granted. With “Save the Treats for the Dog”, my goal is to outline my life with the boy while still keeping me accountable to treat myself as well as I treat the dog.
I am lucky enough to have met my husband Nathan in high school and got married 12 years later in 2007. It has been a great journey. You will likely never see a picture of him as he has banned me from pointing the camera at him. Apparently Harley has become the designated photo model.
My philosophy is to just be nice to others, and they will be nice to you. I hope you find something that interests you here. Drop me a line and let me know what you think.
