Recovering from Holiday Cheer!

Hi all. I cannot believe that December is already gone and January 1st is upon us.  The holidays have flown by. I have written 60 posts in the last year. Amazing.

I was just organizing my photo bin on my computer and wanted to share a few things before the new year officially is underway. November was great this year. Nathan went back to work (after being laid off for a about 6 months), I became a “Tobacco Treatment Specialist” (and survived my plane trip from Minnesota back to Grand Rapids…yoohoo!) I learned how to cook a turkey and did quite a good job, and the roads were not icy at all. I got a surprise delivery of flowers from Pro-Flowers the day before Thanksgiving from my in-laws since I was cooking. What more could a girl want?

I recently realized that I did not invite my mom and Dave to Thanksgiving dinner. (SORRY MOM!). For some reason I remember hearing that they were going to Dave’s house so I didn’t think they were available. I found out after the fact that actually, they were just waiting for somebody to call….Well, actually not that bad.  They enjoyed a quite night by themselves, which lets face it…people need every once in a while. But, nevertheless, daughter of the year over here!  Next year…..

Harley manicure was first thing on my list today to start the new year off right 🙂

Nathan and I made an executive decision this year that we would not put our tree up. We went to the in-laws for Christmas so we weren’t here anyway. That makes it so much easier to clean up the house after the holidays. No tree to take down, no ornaments to disassemble. I felt a little bah humbug this Christmas, but oh well. I m super grateful for it now, especially with Nathan feeling under the weather and me trying to get everything settled before work tomorrow. Hurray. Off to bigger and better things!

About Save the Treats for the Dog

Hi. My name is April. I am a runner, want to be photographer, and lover of all things dog. This is my space where I can keep track of all the Labrador antics as well as hopefully still maintain some semblance of a healthy lifestyle. Please come in and stay awhile
