Hi all. I just sat down to write a quick line. We had such a fun weekend, and the boy was his usual cutie self. We started the weekend on Saturday by waking up bright and early at 6am and going to breakfast. We never ever do this, and it was nice to get a change of pace. I ended up getting the same old thing I always do…ham and cheese omelet with home fries…and I ate mostly home fries and a little bit of omelet. I am so predictable. We then went to the farmers market right across the street from the restaurant and what did we find there but more pears. Granted they looked a little funky and were so expensive I thought maybe they were made of gold, but I bought them anyway. I couldn’t resist making more of my pear sauce with vanilla. I have an extra cup just sitting in the fridge waiting for me when I get home tomorrow. Obsessive right?!
Anyway, we ended up going to Lansing to the in-laws house and visiting the dog park. Harley has a blast with his sister. He has this game where he watches you throw a stick in the water, and then he waits until his sister Annie swims all the way out to the stick. Once she gets halfway back, THEN and only then will he start swimming and meet her half-way. She tries like the dickens to keep the stick away from him, but in the end he is prevails and they both bring the stick back. He looks very proud of himself. Just look at him in the act!
We met another dog there but couldn’t find the owner, so we just ended up throwing the stick for someone elses dog for about 20 minutes. Funny thing is that Annie and Harley would not get the stick if the black dog went for it, so we ended up just entertaining this stranger’s dog. It was a little weird, but he was adorable.
They sure were tired when we got home and Harley has slept on the couch for the last 48 hours. What a life. Right now, he is under my feet just snoring away. Oh and Nathan’s mom made us a raspberry pie, and 4 of us ate the entire thing in one sitting. I have got to get that recipe!!
I hope you all have a great week.
